About This Jigsaw Puzzle
A blonde figure skater twirls in a flawless spin at center ice, her pink and blue costume catching the dramatic glow of purple and yellow stage lights overhead. Her white skates carve the light blue ice as she holds her position with the practiced precision of a champion. The theatrical stage lighting and elegant costume design give the scene the full spectacle of competitive figure skating.
Coloring Tips
The costume is the jewel of this scene - use soft blush pink and ice blue with the fill tool, then apply the glitter tool over the entire costume to simulate the rhinestone sparkle of real skating dresses. Use the spray tool with gentle purple and amber for the stage lighting wash across the background.
Common Questions
What are the main disciplines in figure skating?
Figure skating includes ladies' singles, men's singles, pairs skating, and ice dance. Each discipline is judged on a combination of technical elements and program components including choreography, interpretation, and skating skills. Ice dance focuses on rhythm and dance movement rather than jumps.
What are the hardest jumps in figure skating?
The most difficult single jump is the quad axel, which requires 4.5 rotations and has been landed competitively only a handful of times. Among the six standard jump types, the axel is hardest because it is the only one that takes off from a forward edge. The lutz, flip, and loop are also highly technical and frequently attempted in competition.
What glitter and sparkle colors should I use on the figure skater's costume?
Apply silver and rose gold glitter to the pink sections of the costume, and bright white or pale blue glitter to the blue sections. The combination mimics the way rhinestones scatter different colors of stage light. Use the glitter tool in small strokes for a detailed jeweled effect.
