Roller derby is played in two-minute jams between two teams of five skaters each. One designated scorer called the jammer wears a star on their helmet and scores points by lapping opposing team skaters. Four blockers per team try to help their jammer and stop the opposing jammer.

Elite roller derby skaters can reach speeds of up to 30 kilometres per hour on the banked or flat track. The close-contact nature of the sport means speed must be matched with precise body control and awareness of the pack around you at all times.

Use a fully distinct palette for each team: vivid purple pads and helmet for one side, lime green pads and helmet for the other. Keep the teal rink as a neutral base so both team colors read clearly without blending into the background.

It is a great fit. Roller derby's bold visual identity and punk-sport culture resonate strongly with older kids and teens. The vibrant color palette and action-packed scene make the coloring phase especially engaging for this age group.

Select small circular or figure stamps from the stamp tool and dot them across the yellow and blue seating areas. Varying the scale and keeping them loosely spaced creates the suggestion of individual spectators without needing to paint each one manually.
