A regatta is a series of boat races organized across multiple race days, with the winner determined by accumulated points across all races. Different classes of boats race separately, and handicap systems allow mixed fleets to compete on adjusted times when perfect matching of boats is not possible.

Points of sail describe the angle between the boat and the wind. Running is sailing directly downwind, reaching is sailing across the wind, and close-hauled or beating is sailing as close to the wind direction as possible. Each point of sail requires different sail trim and boat handling technique.

A deep cobalt blue, warm orange, and clean white are already a naturally balanced trio. Use the fill tool for full coverage on each sail, then add a slightly darker shade on the lower-back edge of each sail with the brush to simulate the curve of the fabric catching the breeze.

It is ideal. Young sailors will recognize the boat shapes and racing setup, and can personalize their own colored version to match their club's sail colors. The colorful multiple-boat composition is engaging for ages 6 and up.

Once coloring is complete, the artwork phase shows your colored sailing scene rendered in a 3D display with animated lighting. The turquoise water and colored sails look especially vivid in this phase, and you can rotate the view to find the best angle before downloading.
